Tumbled Stoneware
Our technical department has worked specifically with the company KRONOS to develop a tumbled porcelain stoneware tile as the ideal solution for wine cellars and other food-related applications. It is a technically very valid material that combines technical characteristics (absorption, mechanical resistance, especially of stoneware) with an aesthetic appearance similar to natural materials such as stone, terracotta, etc. This is the characteristic that makes the flooring ideal for wine cellars and outdoor flooring.
The tiles are 20 mm thick and the most commonly used sizes are 20x20 cm and 20x30 cm, which can be used together or alternated in a running bond pattern, which is the most commonly used laying pattern (as can be seen in the photographs on this page).
The surface of the tile has non-slip characteristics that allow it to be used in food environments and also outdoors.
The color of the tiles is not uniform; in fact, this variation in shade is intentional to give a more rustic look to the finished flooring.
It can be laid with wide joints or close joints, and we recommend grouting with a three-component epoxy resin.
This product does not have rounded connection pieces, so the connection to the wall can be made in various ways, as you can see in the photographs here.
The photographs are purely indicative: for actual colors and surfaces, please refer to our sample book.
