OUR
HISTORY
1955
The origins

It was back in 1955 when, almost by chance, Mombrini’s journey in the industrial sector began, following the opportunity to re-tile several departments of the Motta confectionery plant.

1962
KLINKER

With the modesty and confidence in its own capabilities that have always distinguished it, Mombrini carried out a series of trials which, over the following years, produced results such that in 1962 its installers completed their first clinker industrial floor sealed with resin at the butter plant of Latteria Soresinese. That floor is still in excellent condition today. Among the installers was Gianni Mombrini himself, who from that moment on devoted every effort to improving installation techniques and the organization of the company he now leads.

According to Mombrini’s technicians, industrial clinker flooring sealed with epoxy resin represents the optimal solution for most usage conditions and stress levels in production areas, particularly within the food industry and beyond. Among the possible alternatives, to this day there appear to be no solutions that are truly valid, not only from an aesthetic standpoint but also in terms of long-term durability.

Unfortunately, a countless number of improvisers in the field of tiled and non-tiled flooring often lead to the indiscriminate use of even good-quality products, proposing quick and superficial solutions that, over time, inevitably require continuous and endless maintenance work.

As confirmation of the excellent performance that clinker-plus-resin flooring can provide, Mombrini submitted a sample to the laboratory of the Centro Ceramico di Bologna, which issued positive certification regarding the non-slip properties of the surface under various conditions of use, as well as the results of resistance tests—mechanical resistance, abrasion resistance, and resistance to the most common chemical agents.

1993
CARLO MOMBRINI

In 1993, the arrival of Engineer Carlo at Mombrini marked the beginning of a decisive turning point. With vision, technical expertise, and an extraordinary work ethic, he introduced major innovations that enabled the company to grow steadily and significantly in the years that followed, guiding it through a period of unprecedented expansion.

He was the true guiding light of the company during its years of greatest development, a solid and authoritative point of reference who led strategic and operational decisions with clarity and passion. His tireless dedication to work, combined with rare humility and outstanding professionalism, left an enduring mark on the company’s history, contributing not only to its achievements but also to the values on which Mombrini built its future.

2015
EXPO

On the occasion of EXPO 2015, Mombrini installed the clinker flooring for the small dairy of the Grana Padano Consortium, where two wheels of cheese were produced every day. Many visitors noticed the company names stamped on the tiles of the firms involved in creating this “little gem” and contacted us to offer their congratulations for such a significant and prestigious presence.

TODAY

Today, Mombrini can rely on a staff of over 80 people, allowing the company to adapt its installation teams from a single worker to more than 20–25 installers, in order to handle projects of any size and, above all, meet increasingly demanding time constraints for job completion.

The headquarters, located in Caravaggio, covers an area of over 10,000 square meters and houses, in addition to offices and a showroom, a laboratory for the production of coving elements, a workshop, a garage for 20 vans and three trucks, as well as the tile warehouse and installation materials storage.
